Bishkek, Aug. 20, 2024. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov met with French Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Francois Delaus on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in the country.
The Cabinet of Ministers reported that Akylbek Zhaparov congratulated the French side on the successful holding of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, noting that these games were historic for the Kyrgyz Republic, the Kyrgyz team won 6 medals.
Speaking about Kyrgyz-French relations, the head of the Cabinet expressed gratitude for the contribution to the development of constructive cooperation between the two countries. He noted with satisfaction that by the end of 2023, trade turnover between the countries increased by 3.6 times and reached 200 million euros.
In addition, the interaction of the two countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere was discussed. The admission of 122 students from Kyrgyzstan to higher education institutions in France in the 2023 academic year was noted in a positive light, which is a striking example of fruitful cooperation in the field of education.
In turn, Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan Francois Delaus, emphasizing the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, identified the areas of tourism, energy and cultural and humanitarian cooperation as priority areas.
The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for the creation and operation of cultural centers of the two countries.
