Bishkek, Jan.14, 2025. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev held talks with Head of the Hong Kong Administration of the People's Republic of China John Lee as part of his working visit.
The head of the delegation noted that the Kyrgyz Republic demonstrates stable progressive development characterized by economic growth, increase in budget revenues, increase in social payments and more than doubling of GDP per capita, the press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet reported.
“Kyrgyzstan aims to strengthen its position as a transportation and financial hub in Central Asia, actively attracting capital investment, including from Hong Kong SAR of the PRC,” the chairman of the Cabinet stressed.
The sides discussed the prospects of cooperation on the issue of securities of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Hong Kong SAR of China.
Adylbek Kasymaliev raised the topic of simplification of visa regime for citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, interest was expressed in the development of educational cooperation, including through student exchange programs and the establishment of direct links between educational institutions of both sides and the allocation of quota places for students from Kyrgyzstan to study in universities in Hong Kong.
In turn, John Lee said that the Hong Kong SAR of the PRC supports Kyrgyzstan's desire to expand the horizons of cooperation and noted the prospects for cooperation in financial sector.
