Kyrgyz Cabinet head holds negotiations with Uzbek PM

Bishkek, June 25, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as part of a working visit to Urumqi (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China), held negotiations with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail three promising infrastructure projects included in the agenda of bilateral cooperation, identified by the heads of state of the two countries. In addition, negotiations were held on the construction of Kambarata hydro power station-1 and a hydro power station on the Chatkal River.

The heads of government of the two countries also discussed the project for the construction of the Talas-Chatkal-Tashkent highway. It was noted that a road map is currently being developed for this project and the implementation of the project will provide an opportunity to increase mutual trade and increase the tourism potential of the two countries.

At the same time, the participants discussed the intensification of joint work on the construction of a conveyor belt and a coal logistics center aimed at supplying coal from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.

In conclusion, the parties stated that the adoption of practical measures to promote the above infrastructure projects will help strengthen the fraternal strategic relations between the two countries.
