Kyrgyz Cabinet to allocate KGS 1B to improve irrigation of farmland

In order to assist agricultural producers in the period of drought and low water in 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated KGS 1 billion from the republican budget, Agriculture Minister of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

These funds will be used for repair and restoration of 662.4 km of inter-farm canals, including concrete canals - 114.0 km, mechanized cleaning of canals - 816.0 km, 2310 of hydraulic structures, 115 pumping stations, as well as mechanical cleaning of drainage collector network with the length of 276.8 km.

"Currently, KGS 100 million have already been allocated, the State Agency for Water Resources has begun repair work," the minister informed.
