Bishkek, May 23, 2022 / Kabar /. 120 new electric buses are planned to be brought in autumn 2022 (October-November) to Bishkek, deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Baktybek Abdiev told at a meeting of the Committee on Budget, Economy and Fiscal Policy of the Kyrgyz Parliament.
He said that a tender has been announced for the purchase of electric buses. “The tender amount has not yet been announced, but today the approximate cost of these buses varies from EUR 350,000 to 420,000,” he said.
“35 chargers for electric buses will be installed at the parking lots,” Abdiev added.
The Bishkek Mayor’s Office together with the Asian Development Bank signed a grant and loan agreement in the amount of USD 50 million 650 thousand for the purchase of 120 electric buses. USD 25 million of them were provided under a loan agreement, USD 25 million 650 thousand were a grant.
The loan agreement was signed for 32 years, of which 8 years is a grace period. The interest rate during the grace period will be 1%, after 1.5%.
