Bishkek, May 4, 2020. /Kabar/. The Bishkek City Mayor's Office in cooperation with the capital's Internal Affairs Department is considering introducing of quarantine measures and the installation of internal sanitary posts to restrict the movement of cars and pedestrians after the state of emergency is lifted, Bishkek Deputy Mayor Tatyana Kuznetsova said during an online briefing on Monday.
"The Bishkek City Mayor's Office is studying and will tighten quarantine measures in residential areas. In addition, if necessary, district administrations, together with authorized bodies, will set up sanitary posts and check all hot spots where infected and contact persons have been identified. Measures are being intensified to identify and search for contact persons in Bishkek and those entering the city," she said.
In addition, Kuznetsova noted that from May 11, 2020, in case of removal of state of emergency regime, the Mayor's Office is also considering the introduction of certain restrictive measures for cars and people when entering the capital. It means presentation of certificates on passing rapid test or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) along with passes.
"To date, 146 medical workers from the city medical institutions work at 22 sanitary-quarantine posts, organized at the entrances and exits of the capital in order to ensure round-the-clock duty,” the deputy mayor concluded.
In the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Dzhalal-Abad and At-Bashy region of Naryn Oblast a state of emergency is in force until May 10 inclusively due to the current situation under COVID-19. A curfew has been established.
At the same time, the Kyrgyz Government has already developed a three-phase procedure for resuming economic activity, and the first stage came into force on May 1.
