Bishkek, Dec.19, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s capital city of Bishkek will host the IIHF World Championship Division IV. In connection with this sporting event, Deputy Executive Chairman of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Alexei Kireyev has arrived in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, the guest inspected the ice arena of the city ice rink.
In addition, Deputy Executive Chairman Kireyev, Director of the Agency Kanat Amankulov and Head of the Ice Hockey Federation of Kyrgyzstan Anvar Omorkanov discussed steps for joint development and fruitful cooperation.
The issues of sports development in the republic and preparation for the upcoming tournament were raised.
Note that Kyrgyzstan will host the championship in March 2020.
The IIHF World Championship Division IV is an annual sports event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The division has been introduced for the 2020 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships, and forms the lowest level of the IIHF World Championships.
The national team that wins the Division IV championship will be promoted to the following year's Division III B championship, and will be replaced by the team relegated down from Division III B.
