Bishkek, March 30, 2020 / Kabar /. Starting today, Bishkek city will be under heavy duty patrol, commandant of the capital, Vice Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Orozaliev told Monday during a briefing in the Government House.
He said that about 400 patrols will work in the city, which takes measures against those who violate sanitary-quarantine rules. “I ask the townspeople not to endanger their lives and others. You can go outside only for groceries, a pharmacy and a hospital,”the commandant said.
Kyrgyzstan declared a state of emergency from March 25 till April 15, 2020 in its capital city and some regions in the south of the country to prevent the further spread of coronavirus infection.
Thus, a curfew is imposed in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Jalal-Abad, Nookat, Kara-Suu regions of Osh oblast, as well as in Suzak region of Jalal-Abad oblast.
Movement around these areas are limited from 07.00 am to 20.00 pm, with the exception of visit to food shops, pharmacies, medical institutions.
To date 84 COVID-19 cases are registered in Kyrgyzstan. The most of them are in the south of the country. 39 of them are in Jalal-Abad oblast, 33 in Osh oblast, 7 in the city of Bishkek, 3 in Chui oblast, 1 in Batken oblast, and 1 case in Naryn oblast.
Currently, the number of citizens being observed in the republic is 4,886. The number of citizens subject to home quarantine is 3,338
