Bishkek, Oct.23, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek wiil host the United Nations Day.
Event, which has become a tradition of Bishkek thanks to the United Nations agencies, will take place in Dordoi Plaza-2 on Oct. 26.
According to the press service of the UN Office in Kyrgyzstan, the event’s program includes:
-Consultations on domestic violence, early marriage; HIV test; pressure measurement;
-Information on good nutrition for schoolchildren; meetings on “Women in Business”, “Immunology”; quest on Sustainable Development Goals, master classess.
A classical music concert from the Manas Presidential Chamber Orchestra, which has become a traditional gift from UN agencies, will be held also.
The United Nations officially came into existence on Oct. 24, 1945.
In 1948, the United Nations General Assembly declared 24 October, the anniversary of the Charter of the United Nations, as which "shall be devoted to making known to the people of the world the aims and achievements of the United Nations and to gaining their support for" its work.
