Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2020 / Kabar /. Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan Nurzhan Shaildabekova met with Head of the Headquarters of the Observer Mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States Oleg Kuleba.
The press service of the CEC reported that the sides discussed the issues related to the upcoming early presidential elections of Kyrgyzstan and the referendum on Jan. 10, 2021.
The chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic informed in detail about the course of the election campaign and measures taken by the electoral bodies to prepare and conduct elections.
In turn, CIS observers noted that the main task of the Mission is to assess the election campaign and referendum for compliance with national legislation and to assist in the conduct of free and democratic elections and referendums.
The work of the Mission will be built in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, documents adopted within the framework of the Commonwealth, and based on the generally recognized principles and norms of international law in the field of organizing and holding elections and referendum.
The headquarters of the CIS Mission for monitoring the presidential elections and the referendum has begun its work on Dec. 21, 2020.
