Kyrgyz Chess Championship among children and people with disabilities started

Bishkek, Jan.4, 2018 /Kabar/. The Chess Championship among children and people with disabilities has started in Bishkek on Jan. 4, organizers said.

A total of 14 sets of medals are played in 7 age categories among boys and girls (up to 6 years, up to 8 years, up to 10 years, up to 12 years, up to 14 years, up to 16 years and up to 18 years).

"The winners of the national championship will have an opportunity to represent Kyrgyzstan in the World and Asian Championships,” president of the Kyrgyz Chess Federation, Milan Turpanov said.

The opening ceremony of the tournament took place at Ala-Too International University on Jan.4. The first symbolic move of the national championship was made by director of the university Sanjarbek Erdolatov.

The tournament is held in accordance with the rules of FIDE on Swiss system in 9 rounds. Awarding of winners is scheduled for Jan. 12.
