Bishkek, Nov. 30, 2017. /Kabar/. For the first time in the history of domestic chess, Kyrgyz citizen Islam Baisynov became the Asian champion among fans of chess, which ended the day before in Chiang Mai (Thailand).
95 sportsmen from almost 30 countries participated in the Open category, reported the president of the Сhess Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Milan Turpanov. In nine rounds, Islam Baisynov won six victories: representatives of Thailand, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates and Japan were defeated.
“Having scored seven points, he became the second in the leader board, losing one point to a representative from Uzbekistan. And among the players rated to 2000 , Baisynov took first place," Turpanov noted.
Thus, Baisynov became the Asian champion in the 2000 rating and won silver in the Open tournament. Thus the chess player Baisynov also thanked the chess federation of the Kyrgyz Republic for all of their support.
