Kyrgyz-Chinese border to be temporarily closed – SBS

Bishkek, Apr. 2, 2019. /Kabar/. China is temporarily closing the border with Kyrgyzstan, the Public and Media Relations Department of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

“Torugart-Avtodorozhny and Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhny checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border will be temporarily closed from April 5 to April 7, 2019, at the initiative of the Chinese side, in connection with Tomb Sweeping Day in the People’s Republic of China,” the message reads.

As noted by the SBS, the passage of persons, vehicles and cargo through the checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border will resume on April 8, 2019.
