The opening of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Humanitarian Exchange took place at the Central University for Nationalities of China timed to coincide with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China Kanayim Baktygulova, Rector of Osh State University Kozhobekov (online), Rector of the Central University for Nationalities Guo Guangsheng, teachers, students and diplomats of the embassy.
In her speech, Ambassador Baktygulova noted that the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Humanitarian Exchange is the first joint center that opened in China. She expressed hope that the opening of the center at the Central University for Nationalities will give an additional impetus to the further development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as provide an opportunity for students and teachers of well-known higher educational institutions to study the culture, history and languages of the two countries more deeply.
Rector of Osh State University Kozhobekov noted that the opening of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Humanitarian Exchange promotes cooperation and joint development in the field of education and culture, as well as strengthening ties between the two peoples. He also said that universities are planning to develop cooperation in the field of exchange of scientists and students, mutual translation of classical literature of the two countries into Kyrgyz and Chinese languages, etc.
Guo Guangsheng, rector of the Central University of Nationalities of China, said that this year China is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Communist Party, and the university is also celebrating its 70th anniversary. In this regard, he emphasized the significance of the opening of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Humanitarian Exchange in the anniversary year, which is designed to strengthen cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
As part of the event, a ceremony of signing an agreement on the exchange of students between Osh State University and Central University for Nationalities of China was held.
