Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2019. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov met with State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the meeting took place on Thursday within the framework of Aidarbekov’s official visit to China at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.
During the official talks, the two foreign affairs ministers discussed all key aspects of the current state of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations and their further intensification.
The general topic of the meeting was the discussion of the upcoming visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov to China to participate in the II International Cooperation Forum within the framework of the One Belt, One Road Initiative in April of this year, as well as scheduled for June of this year the state visit of President of China Xi Jinping to the Kyrgyz Republic and his participation in the SCO Summit in Bishkek.
During the meeting, Aidarbekov noted that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to a comprehensive strategic partnership with China, seeking to develop cooperation in all areas of cooperation, including through the promotion and implementation of significant bilateral social and economic projects.
Wang Yi emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is an important partner for China, noted the willingness to continue to maintain the high dynamics of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations together, and also gratefully accepted the invitation to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan in May 2019.
The two ministers, noting the symbolism of the appointment of new Ambassadors in the two countries and their work experience, expressed hope for their immediate, active and fruitful work.
The ministers also paid attention to the upcoming meeting of the SCO Ministerial Council in Bishkek, which will be one of the important events in preparation for the upcoming SCO Summit
Following the talks, the heads of the foreign ministries of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China held a press conference for media.
