Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2018 / Kabar /. The officers of the State Committee for National Security detained a 21-year-old Kyrgyz citizen who tried to leave for Syria to take part in hostilities on the side of terrorist organizations.
The investigation found that the detainee had been in the territory of one of the neighboring countries for the past several years and on the order of the leaders of international terrorist organizations intended to leave to participate in military operations on the side of the bandit formation against the governmental forces of Syria.
A criminal case initiated on the article of Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan on participation of a Kyrgyz citizen in armed conflicts or military actions in the territory of a foreign state.
The detainee is placed in jail. The investigation is under way.
In total, according to official data, 850 citizens of Kyrgyzstan left for the war in Syria since the beginning of the year, 150 of whom were killed.
