Bishkek, Aug. 7, 2020 / Kabar /. A Kyrgyz citizen, resident of the village of Kok-Tash was shot by the Tajik side on the border area.
In this regard, enhanced explanatory work is being carried out, the Batken oblast police department reported.
The police recalled that on Aug. 6, 2020, at about 05:30 a.m., an incident with the use of weapons occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border.
In the Eki-Tash area of Batken Oblast, unknown persons from Tajikistan fired a shot, presumably from a hunting rifle, at a serviceman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic. As a result, a soldier of the border detachment was wounded. He received the necessary medical assistance.
In addition, later on the same day at about 6:30 p.m., a 65-year-old resident of the village of Kok-Tash M.R. was working on his land plot when shots sounded from the side of Tajikistan, as a result of which he received a gunshot wound and was taken to the regional hospital.
At present, the police officers are conducting intensive explanatory work among the population. The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is relatively stable.
