Bishkek, May 10, 2020 / Kabar/. Kyrgyz citizens who arrived from Sol-Iletsk city of Russia refused to obey the doctors and violated quarantine rules, Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbaev told on Sunday.
Hundreds of Kyrgyz citizens were stuck in the city of Sol-Iletsk, on the Russian-Kazakh border after Kazakhstan introduced a state of emergency in the country due to COVID-19 and restricted the entry of foreign citizens.
After negotiations held with the Kazakh authorities, 541 Kyrgyz citizens were taken to Kyrgyzstan through Kazakhstan on May 7. All of the arrived citizens were placed under medical observation.
The deputy minister said that they rejected general requirements and disobey to health workers.
“Observational rules were violated. There have also been attempts to escape from the observation. We were forced to contact the police. The category of arrived migrants does not understand the danger to their relatives and friends,” he said.
Usenbaev noted that the situation is now under control. He noted with regret that he had to announce this fact.
As of May 10 morning, 71 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, 55 of them were detected among those who arrived from Sol-Iletsk.
In total, 1002 cases have been registered in the country.
