Resident of Osh oblast, veteran of sports and labor of the Kyrgyz Republic Mamyt Tashtanov, on May 18, 2018 launched a bicycle tour called "Dostuk" (Friendship) along the Bishkek-Osh-Andijan-Kokand-Bukhara-Samarkand-Djizak-Manas-Tashkent route, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The cycling tour has started from the zero kilometer of Kyrgyzstan located on the central Ala-Too square in Bishkek and the zero kilometer of Uzbekistan located on the territory of the main post office of Tashkent will be the place of the finish of this bike tour.
"Currently, in the political, cultural and sporting-spiritual life of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan there is warm relations and cycling tour called "Dostuk" will become an important and significant event in the consolidation of friendly relations between the peoples of the two republics," the ministry said.
The bike tour will become a demonstration site for the friendship of nomadic peoples, which will be demonstrated in detail at the Third World Nomad Games, which is held in September 2018, becoming a unique and significant world event in the field of culture and sport. This bike tour is also timed to the 90th anniversary of the world famous writer Chyngyz Torokulovich Aitmatov.
The tour is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.
