Tashkent, Mar. 20, 2019. /Kabar/. Representatives of Kyrgyzstan are participating in the regular plenary meeting of the PEMPAL Program (Public Expenditure Management Peer Assisted Learning) of the World Bank in Tashkent.
The Kyrgyz delegation includes head of the Budget Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanat Asangulov, leading experts of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanat Begaliyev and Irsena Abakirova.
Kanat Asangulov told that the PEMPAL includes three practicing communities – the Budget, Treasury and the Internal Audit community, which hold regular meetings to discuss issues of professional interest.
“Currently, large-scale work is underway to ensure transparency of budget information and active participation of citizens in the budget process. In this regard, the experience of developed countries and study of best practices in this field are important for Kyrgyzstan as well,” he said.
According to him, in the period from 2012 to 2017 within the PEMPAL training program, over 130 thematic events were held in various formats to discuss reform issues, where representatives of Kyrgyzstan were actively participating.
More than 60 international financial experts and specialists from more than 20 countries of the Budget Community are taking part in this event.
This program includes trainings and presentations on budget processes and their introduction in the general public, which will last until March 22 of this year.
