Kyrgyz delegation to take part in meeting of SCO RATS in Tashkent

Bishkek, April 6, 2023. / Kabar/. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security - Director of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Shamenov, arrived in Tashkent to participate in the regular meeting of the SCO RATS, which will be held tomorrow, April 7, the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan said.

It is expected that during the meeting, the participants will review the state of regional security, discuss the current situation in the field of countering terrorism, separatism and extremism in the SCO space, exchange views on the level of interaction between the competent authorities of the SCO member states, and determine joint measures to respond to modern security challenges and threats by international terrorist organizations.

Recall that on June 7, 2002 in St. Petersburg, during a meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States, an Agreement on the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) was signed, which was designated as a permanent body of the SCO.
