Bishkek, Dec.11, 2019. /Kabar/. The premiere of the Sugar German play, directed by Kyrgyzstani Ulanbek Bayaliyev, took place at the stage of the Moscow Art Theatre.
According to the website of the Theatre, for the first time the Art Theatre turns to the prose of Sergey Klychkov (1889-1937) - writer and poet, in whose work realism is intertwined with the mysticism of folk life.
Modern literary scholars have made a sensational conclusion: Sergey Klychkov can be called the founder of magical realism, where the main criterion is the use of fiction, dissolved in everyday life so that it becomes extremely real.
Klychkov wrote the Sugar German novel in 1925 and is based on the events he experienced in 1916.
"Sugar German - the story of the fall of a man who was born to save himself, but he commits a sin and dies, as dies all peasant Russia.
By killing another, he kills himself. I have a feeling this novel is repentant, and it is important to us that his characters could find forgiveness and mercy. We want to open them to the viewer and the reader, to free them and to let them go to the world they would like to go to,” says director Ulanbek Bayaliyev.
