Bishkek, March 23, 2022 . / Kabar / . The Islamabad city of Pakistan hosted a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Egypt Sameh Shoukry.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 48th session of the Council of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers discussed the current state of Kyrgyz-Egyptian relations and prospects for their further development, noting the need to establish political contacts through mutual visits at various levels.
Agreement was reached on the need to expand the contractual legal framework between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt in priority areas.
To this end, Kazakbaev submitted draft treaties in tourism, education, agriculture, medicine, protection and promotion of investments for consideration by the Egyptian side.
In order to promote mutual trade and economic cooperation, the Kyrgyz side put forward an initiative to establish a joint Intergovernmental Commission.
In order to strengthen cooperation within the auxiliary bodies of the OIC, Shoukry proposed Kyrgyzstan to join the Charter of the Women Development Organization headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.
Besides, Ruslan Kazakbaev informed that the Kyrgyz side is working on the establishment of an embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Egypt, noting the importance of support from Egypt in this matter.
As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year, the two sides expressed their readiness to hold joint business forums, cultural days, tourism exhibitions and scientific conferences.
In conclusion, Shoukry expressed his willingness to visit Kyrgyzstan, preliminarily agreeing on the timing of the visit through diplomatic channels.
