Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2020 / Kabar /. The opening ceremony of the 12th annual charity fair "Love Knows No Borders", which is held by the Chinese Foreign Ministry at the initiative of Qian Wei, the wife of a State Councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, was held online in Beijing, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The charity fair will be opened within a week through the Taobao electronic trading platform. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan and other diplomatic missions presented free of charge their souvenir and other products for on-line sale. The proceeds will be used to support children in two counties of Jinping and Malipo, Yunnan Province, China.
The event was attended by 130 representatives of embassies, international organizations accredited in Beijing, as well as large Chinese companies and financial institutions. Welcoming speeches were delivered by State Councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi and his wife Qian Wei.
Wang Yi pointed out that through common efforts, the fair has become an important platform for showing kindness to all walks of life in China and abroad, a window for the Chinese people to understand the traditions, history, culture of various countries, and a bridge to strengthen friendship between the Chinese people and the peoples of all countries. The Love Knows No Borders fair also harmoniously integrates into the national poverty alleviation program in China. The minister expressed hope that diplomatic missions and caring people in China will continue to actively participate in this event and make new contributions.
Qian Wei stressed that the charity fair has already been held for 11 years and should not be postponed this year due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Qian Wei expressed her hope that the charity fair can bring more love and concern together and contribute to the fight against poverty in China.
