Kyrgyz Embassy in Turkey continues to gather information on Kyrgyzstanis intending to return to homeland

Bishkek, Apr. 18, 2020. /Kabar/. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Turkey continues to gather information about Kyrgyz citizens who intend to return to their homeland, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

During the Extraordinary Summit of the Heads of State of the Turkic Council by videoconference, held on Apr. 10 this year, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov appealed to all countries of the Organization on the issue of mutual support to citizens who are on the territory of the Parties and are unable to return to their countries in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and the temporary suspension of regular flights.

As a result of the Summit, the Turkish side, in the spirit of brotherly unity, assisted in the return of Kyrgyz citizens to their homeland.

Embassy and Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Istanbul, together with the Turkish Foreign Ministry, local authorities of Ankara and Istanbul cities and Turkish Airlines worked out the issue of return of 211 Kyrgyz citizens by flight from Istanbul to Bishkek on Apr. 17 this year.

"The Embassy and the Consulate General continue to gather information about citizens who intend to return to Kyrgyzstan. The necessary information about the measures taken by the Kyrgyz Government and local authorities is regularly posted on the Embassy's official website," the statement said.

A charter flight from Turkey’s Istanbul with 211 Kyrgyz citizens on board was met at Manas International Airport on Apr.17ю

For the safety of all passengers, they have been served on the platform of the airport and sent for examination.
