Kyrgyz Embassy, Snow Leopard Foundation Pakistan celebrate World Wildlife Day

Bishkek, Mar.4, 2020. /Kabar/. The embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Pakistan, together with the Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) of Pakistan held a World Wildlife Day celebration, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

The event on the theme “Sustaining All Life on Earth” took place as part of environmental diplomacy at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in Islamabad.

The festive event was attended by Adviser for Climate Change to Prime Minister of Pakistan Malik Amin Aslam, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international and non-governmental organizations in Islamabad, state bodies and media in Pakistan.

In his speech, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Pakistan Erik Beishembiyev noted the adoption in Kyrgyzstan in 2019 of a law on ratification of the UN Paris Agreement on Climate Change, as well as the country's contribution to providing the region with environmentally friendly hydropower through the CASA-1000 project for exporting electricity from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) is a non-profit organization set up under section 42 of the companies Ordinance 1984 with Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

The SLF is dedicated to conserve viable populations of snow leopards and other wild carnivores as an integral part of landscapes across Pakistan.
