Kyrgyz-Emirati Investment Fund may appear in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 14, 2022. / Kabar /. It is proposed to establish a Kyrgyz-Emirati Investment Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported Monday.

A meeting was held between Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The two ministers discussed the progress and practical steps to implement the agreements reached during the visit of Minister Kazakbaev to the UAE in early March of this year.

"During the planned visit of Minister Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, a UAE business delegation will arrive in Kyrgyzstan to hold B2B events," the report said.

Kazakbayev proposed to establish a Kyrgyz-Emirati Investment Fund, to consider possibilities of cooperation in civil aviation through the development of transit potential of Kyrgyzstan and use the rich experience of the Emirati side in conducting reforms in public administration, digitalization, health and introduction of the green economy.

The UAE economy minister expressed interest in the implementation of joint plans to develop cooperation and increase trade and economic turnover between the two countries. He also noted the readiness of the Emirati side to sign a number of bilateral cooperation documents.

"The sides shared their forecasts of the situation development and discussed possibilities to minimize the negative consequences of the sanctions, and also agreed to maintain close working contacts to solve the issues of mutual interest," report said.
