Kyrgyz entrepreneurs to have opportunity to cooperate with UK companies

Bishkek, Mar. 6, 2019. /Kabar/. Representatives of UK business companies headed by British Expertise International are preparing to visit Kyrgyzstan with a trade mission. The need and format of the visit was confirmed by Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov and British Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Robin Ord-Smith at a working meeting on Monday, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

From 11 to 14 March 2019, the Third UK Trade Mission will be held in Bishkek. Representatives of 13 British companies will meet state officials, businessmen and leaders of international organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek. The program includes study visits and B2B meetings, as well as a UK-KG business forum.

“We expect the mission to bring increased trade between countries, as well as an additional inflow of investments, for businessmen of Kyrgyzstan receive an excellent chance for fruitful networking and contracting,” Pankratov noted. “Kyrgyzstan has the potential to develop trade and investment cooperation, and we are ready to realize it.”

In turn, Ord-Smith agreed with him and noted that one of the main tasks of the British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic is that as many British companies as possible learn about Kyrgyzstan.

The British delegation will be represented by the following companies: Bloomberg, Cambridge Assessment, EURO IT group, Mayphil IPG UK, IMC Worldwide, Roughton International Limited, Stephen Austin and Sons Limited, Beautiful Destinations, Future Skills Commission, Integras Technologies, Lintelligent, Crown Agents. These companies have international experience and knowledge in the areas of e-government, business and finance, education, consulting services, engineering, media, IT, etc.

The trade relations between Kyrgyzstan and the UK have been fruitfully developing for years. So, in 2018, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $ 681 million and in comparison with 2017 have more than tripled. Moreover, the share of exports in it was over 98% or $ 670 million.
