Bishkek, Sept. 5, 2017 / Kabar /. Ernest Abdyzhaparov’s film Sayakbay won Golden Zenith at 41st International Film Festival in Montreal, in the category of the best Innovative Film, actress Zamira Satybaldieva told Kabar Agency.
The festival took place from August 24 to September 4 in Montreal. The Kyrgyz film participated in the main contest and won the best Innovative Film nomination.
“I congratulate the creators and everyone who made contribution to this film with their worthy reward. Forward for Oscar,” Satybaldieva said.
The feature film Sayakbay tells about the Homer of the 20th century or more precisely the great narrator of the Manas epic Sayakbai Karalaev. Remembering his life the Manas narrator recalls historical events of the Kyrgyz and Soviet history. The main theme of the film is the mystery of the Manas heroic trilogy.
The movie premiere will be held in Kyrgyzstan on September 7.
