Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020. / Kabar / The Kyrgyz film "Shambhala" directed by Artykpay Suyundukov will be shown at the Kolkata International Film Festival.
The National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm" reported that the film festival will take place from 5 to 12 November and is considered one of the oldest film festivals in India.
The film is based on Chingiz Aitmatov’s story "The White Ship" about a seven-year-old boy and six adults living in a protected forest. The boy is lonely. The parents are replaced by grandmother and grandfather, who tells folk tales to his grandson. The world of folks and beautiful legends, perceived by an impressionable child inclined to a fabulous perception of reality, comes into conflict with the harsh reality of the world of adults, busy with their own problems.
