Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2018. /Kabar/. Oscar Committee of Kyrgyzstan nominated the film Night Accident directed by Temir Birnazarov for the Oscar the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The film will compete for the main award in the category Best Foreign Language Film.
The work tells of a lonely and grumpy old man named Tenty and a strange girl. A man finds the wounded girl on a country road at night. Taking care of the girl, the old man gradually falls in love with her.
The meeting of the National Committee was held on Wednesday at Aitmatov Cinema House. In total, two films were submitted for participation: Night Accident by Temir Birnazarov and Song of the Tree by Aibek Daiyrbekov, the Union of Cinematographers reported.
According to the results of the voting, Night Accident received the largest number of votes of the committee members.
The 91st Oscar award ceremony for achievements in the field of cinema will be held on February 24 next year in Los Angeles.
