Kyrgyz FM Aidarbekov, U.S. Under Secretary of State Hale had phone talk

Bishkek, Apr. 17, 2020. /Kabar/. In the evening of Apr. 17, 2020 phone conversation was held between Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov and United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale.

The issues of cooperation in conditions of coronavirus infection spread in the world were discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

FM Aidarbekov asked to consider issues of alleviating the plight of Kyrgyz citizens in the U.S., including the possibility of assistance of the U.S. side in extending visas on a pro bono basis, creating conditions to protect the health of schoolchildren and students.

The assistance provided and expected by USAID to Kyrgyzstan in countering the spread of the COVID-19 virus was positively noted.

Attention was drawn to the need to establish direct contacts between medical institutions and the Health Ministries of the two countries.

The sides will continue to maintain constant working contact to address pressing issues on the bilateral agenda.
