Bishkek, June 1, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen.
The press service of the ministry said that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, the implementation of the agreements reached following Kazakbaev's official visit to China (May 11 of this year, Xian).
In addition, during the meeting, the minister, on behalf of the country's President Sadyr Zhaparov, thanked the Chinese side for the decision made by the Chinese government to provide food aid in the form of 40 thousand tons of flour, 20 thousand tons of sugar, 20 thousand tons of vegetable oil, and the provision of grant assistance in the amount of 350 million yuan (about 54 million US dollars) to support the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the second batch of Chinese vaccine in the amount of 150 thousand doses.
"The Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the decision of the Chinese leadership not to charge additional payments for deferring payments on the state external debt of the Kyrgyz Republic to China," he said.
The foreign minister also expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the measures taken to optimize the activities of the checkpoints of the two countries.
It should be noted that crane equipment was installed at the Torugart checkpoint, which made it possible to increase the traffic flow up to 50-60 freight vehicles per day from May 15, 2021.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to continue active practical interaction at all levels to further strengthen bilateral relations of comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China, the report said.
In this regard, the priority task of the sides in the near future is to organize a high-level visit to China at the invitation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping, which was announced by the Chinese leader during a telephone conversation with the head of Kyrgyzstan in February of this year.
