Bishkek, April 14, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov as part of his working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation, the implementation of previously reached agreements in the trade, economic and investment spheres. They noted the need to further intensify cooperation in order to increase mutual trade and bring the volume of trade to USD 2 billion. In this regard, the importance of creating and opening the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund was noted, which will have a positive impact on economic development, expanding cooperation ties between business representatives of the two countries.
In addition, the interlocutors exchanged views on the current situation in the world, the international and regional agenda, discussed issues of upcoming foreign policy events at the highest and high levels, as well as holding a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan and the upcoming High-Level Conference Central Asia - OSCE in Bishkek.
The sides expressed their mutual readiness to further expand and deepen Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations on the basis of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.
