Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2020 / Kabar /. As part of a working visit to Nur-Sultan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The head of the government of Kazakhstan congratulated Kazakbaev on his appointment to the post of head of the foreign ministry of Kyrgyzstan and wished him further success in his work.
The Kyrgyz minister conveyed greetings on behalf of Acting President, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov. He also reported on the gradual stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan and the return of political processes to the legal field, assured that the Kyrgyz side remains fully committed to all its international obligations and strict implementation of all previously signed bilateral and multilateral international treaties. He assured the Kazakh side that the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic would take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of Kazakh investments, in accordance with the country's legislation.
During the negotiations, the sides discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation in the political, trade and economic, water and energy, transport, logistics and cultural and humanitarian spheres, and also outlined the prospects for further interaction.
The sides paid special attention to the issues of countering the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to overcome the consequences of coronavirus infection, Kazakbaev appealed to the Kazakh side with a request to consider the possibility of providing assistance in providing the Kyrgyz side with medicines and personal protective equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He also asked to consider the possibility of providing financial assistance to support the country's budget and ensure food security, taking into account the socio-economic situation in Kyrgyzstan in the post-crisis period.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed in the near future to organize bilateral meetings at the highest and high levels, including within the framework of participation in multilateral events.
