Bishkek, June 27, 2024. /Kabar/. Much attention was paid to discussing the issues related to OSCE support in the implementation of national programs and projects in Kyrgyzstan aimed at overcoming economic challenges, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, told following negotiations with visiting OSCE Chair-in-Office, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta Ian Borg.
“During the negotiations, we also discussed issues on the international agenda. Particular attention was paid to security issues in Central Asia. In this context, we confirmed the importance of coordinating our actions within the OSCE. Also today we discussed current issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the state of Malta in the main priority areas. In general, we are pleased with the results of the negotiations, which confirmed the commitment of our countries to continue working together in the interests of ensuring peace, security, and stability in Central Asia and in the OSCE region as a whole. I am confident that the visit of Minister Borg will give additional impetus to the development of cooperation between our country and the OSCE,” Kulubaev said.
He also noted the importance of the initiative of OSCE Secretary General Schmid to hold a forum of heads of border services in Central Asia. He said that this platform has become traditional and useful and, of course, strengthens dialogue and cooperation between border guards.
The Kyrgyz foreign minister thanked the Maltese Chairmanship for the excellent organization of climate and environmental events in the city of St. Julian's, and wished success in holding the 31st OSCE Environmental Forum in September this year in Prague.
