Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2018 / Kabar /. Within the framework of the visit of the UN assessment mission on scaling up activities to assist Kyrgyzstan in preventing extremism and countering this phenomenon, a meeting was held between Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov and the UN delegation led by UNDP Global Program Manager and special adviser to prevent violent extremism Alexander Avanesov.
During the meeting with members of the UN assessment mission, the issues of assistance to Kyrgyzstan in preventing extremism and countering this phenomenon, combating terrorism, as well as topical issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN in various fields were discussed.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister confirmed the support of Kyrgyzstan by the UN programs in countering extremism and terrorism, and noted the interest of the Kyrgyz Republic in attracting international expert and financial and technical assistance to implement the Program on countering extremism and terrorism for 2017-2022.
