Kyrgyz FM briefs his Turkish counterpart on internal political situation in country

Bishkek, Oct. 19, 2020 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu.

The press service of the Foreign Ministry said that the Turkish Foreign Minister congratulated Ruslan Kazakbaev on his appointment as minister of foreign affairs of Kyrgyzstan and wished him success in his high post.

During the telephone conversation, Kazakbaev informed the interlocutor about the internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan and noted that at present the situation in the country is stable, the ongoing political processes have returned to the legal field, all branches of government of the Kyrgyz Republic are legitimate, and the executive authorities continue to operate in normal mode.

An exchange of views took place on topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing priority areas of cooperation, as well as on taking measures to strengthen and develop Kyrgyz-Turkish strategic cooperation.

In addition, Minister Kazakbaev thanked the Turkish side for the support of the people of Kyrgyzstan in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular for the provided humanitarian and technical assistance, the transfer for temporary use of the Bishkek State Hospital of the Kyrgyz-Turkish friendship, as well as assistance in the removal of our compatriots to their homeland.

The head of the foreign policy department noted the importance of the full implementation of the previously reached agreements. In this regard, the Kyrgyz side expressed readiness to meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu in the near future.

The sides also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events and discussed planned visits and meetings at the highest and high levels.
