Bishkek, Jan.13, 2020. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov received on Monday Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS or Turkic Council) Baghdad Amreyev, who has arrived in Bishkek for working visit.
In the course of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on topical cooperation issues of the Turkic Council member states in various spheres, including the implementation of the agreements of heads of state and the decisions of the 7th CCTS Summit held on Oct.15, 2019 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
CCTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev spoke about the results of the activity of the Turkic Council in 2019, the progress of work related to the launch of the CCTS Office in Hungarian capital Budapest.
FM Aidarbekov noted the need to continue intensifying the activity of the Turkic Council in the economic direction, implementation of specific projects in this area of interest to all member states.
The sides also discussed the events planned by the Turkic Council for 2020.
The Turkic Council, Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) is an international organization comprising some of the Turkic countries.
It is an intergovernmental organization whose overarching aim is promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic states. It was founded on Oct. 3, 2009 in Nakhchivan. The idea of setting up this cooperative council was first put forward by first Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev back in 2006.
The member countries are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey.
