Bishkek, March 10, 2023 /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met and discussed topical issues of cooperation with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Bishkek on his first visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said that Kulubaev noted that Kyrgyzstan considers membership in the CSTO one of the key directions of its foreign policy.
“In this regard, the Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic assured the CSTO Secretary General that the Kyrgyz Republic supports the activities of the CSTO to ensure the collective security of its member states from external threats and challenges.
At the same time, the minister drew attention to the need to further strengthen and develop the potential of the CSTO, especially in terms of preventing crises in its area of responsibility and developing legally and politically binding mechanisms for the non-use of force in resolving bilateral disputes between the CSTO member states.
For his part, Tasmagambetov informed the Kyrgyz minister about the implementation of the decisions of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the work plan for the current year, assuring that the voiced positions and proposals of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the development of the CSTO potential would be taken into account.
