Bishkek, Feb. 26, 2022 . / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev discussed with German Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Gabriela Guellil and French Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Francois Delaus the possibility of creating a "green corridor" for compatriots in Ukraine through neighboring European countries.
The meeting was held on the initiative of the German and French ambassadors, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported Saturday.
Thus, the sides discussed the current situation in Ukraine, in particular, Ambassadors Guellil and Delaus outlined positions of their countries on this issue.
Speaking about the current situation in Ukraine, Ruslan Kazakbaev noted the importance of further avoidance of casualties among soldiers and civilians, emphasizing the need to find new formats and mechanisms of negotiations for the conflict participants, resolution process on the platforms of authoritative international organizations such as the UN Security Council and others in order to quickly de-escalate the situation and peaceful resolution of the conflict exclusively by political and diplomatic methods within the framework of universally recognized principles.
Kazakbaev also said that the Foreign Ministry is actively working to evacuate citizens of Kyrgyzstan, who are in Ukraine.
“Given the closure of airspace of Ukraine, the minister expressed a request to European colleagues to consider the possibility of creating a "green corridor" for citizens of Kyrgyzstan, through the neighboring European countries with Ukraine," the report said.
Along with this, the diplomats also discussed issues of Kyrgyz-German and Kyrgyz-French cooperation both in bilateral and international formats.
