Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2024. / Kabar /. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Celinda Sosa Lunda in New York on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that during the talks, Kulubaev noted the importance of continuing to actively promote the mountain agenda within the UN, emphasizing that Bolivia, like the Kyrgyz Republic, is a mountainous country, which opens up additional opportunities for cooperation. He also invited his counterpart to the Second Global Mountain Summit in 2027.
During the discussion of international cooperation issues, Minister Kulubaev informed about the nomination of the Kyrgyz Republic as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2027-2028 and asked for support from Bolivia. He also expressed a request for assistance in promoting the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Latin American countries. To further strengthen bilateral relations, Minister Kulubaev proposed considering the possibility of organizing an exchange of visits at the level of official delegations, as well as holding regular consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.
