Kyrgyz FM holds meeting with representatives of business associations

Bishkek, Jan. 25, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov held a meeting with representatives of business associations of the Kyrgyz Republic on the promotion of economic diplomacy in the light of the tasks defined in the National Development Strategy for 2018-2040 and the Government's “Unity, Trust and Creation” Program.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that during the meeting, Aidarbekov informed the participants about the measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to reform the organizational and staff structure created at the Department of Economic Diplomacy, additional measures to strengthen the activities of foreign agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the institution of Honorary Consuls in the field of economic diplomacy.

The Minister also informed about the results of recent visits and agreements reached on strengthening economic ties and promoting joint business projects.

In turn, representatives of business associations of the Kyrgyz Republic, noting the relevance of the meeting proposed by the Foreign Ministry, informed about the existing problems and made a number of proposals to enhance cooperation, implement practical measures to promote economic diplomacy.

Special attention was paid to the issues of developing and implementing joint business projects and evaluating their effectiveness, strengthening cooperation with foreign partners in priority countries.

Following the meeting, it was decided to continue the practice of joint discussion of problematic issues in order to develop practical actions in the field of attracting investment, promoting the export and tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The following representatives of business associations took part in the meeting: Chamber of Commerce and Industry, JIA Business Association (Young Entrepreneurs Association), Mining Guild Association, Union of Jewelers and Entrepreneurs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Association of Small Hydroelectric Power Plants, International Business Council, National Alliance of Business Associations (NABA, Union of Entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Et Association of Producers and Processors of Meat, Association of Craftsmen, Association of Domestic Producers, Council of Germans of the Kyrgyz Republic, Union of Cooperatives of Kyrgyzstan, Suusamyr Association, Association of Logisticians, Manas Airport, and Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Finland Petri Numminen.
