Kyrgyz FM holds negotiations with chairman of Chamber of Deputies of Italy

Bishkek, May 30, 2024. / Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev held a meeting with Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana, the ministry’s press service reported.

During the meeting the parties discussed the possibilities of further development of Kyrgyz-Italian interparliamentary cooperation, expansion of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and interaction in the field of education.

In order to develop inter-parliamentary dialogue between countries, the Kyrgyz side noted the importance of establishing contacts at the level of committees and parliamentary offices.

In this regard, Jeenbek Kulubaev proposed creating a friendship group of deputies of the Italian and Kyrgyz parliaments, which could become the basis for expanding interaction between legislators of the two countries and organizing visits at the level of parliamentary leadership.

Also, the Kyrgyz minister noted that direct inter-parliamentary contacts and mutual visits not only help strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, but can also become a bridge of friendship between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Italy.

In turn, the speaker of the Italian Chamber of Deputies expressed his readiness to provide the necessary support and assistance in the implementation of joint Kyrgyz-Italian projects in specific areas of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, issues of interaction between the parliaments of Kyrgyzstan and Italy within the framework of the European Union, the European Parliament and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly were also considered.
