As part of participation in the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (March 22-23), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev visited Lahore, the administrative center of Pakistan's largest province.
The minister held several meetings with representatives of business circles, and negotiations with President, Vice-Presidents and members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that Kazakbaev informed the Pakistani side about the wide investment and tourism opportunities of Kyrgyzstan.
In particular, it was noted that in the last 2 years, Kyrgyzstan has been receiving a large number of Pakistani tourists arriving in the country by charter flights.
The leadership of the Lahore Chamber of Commercewas also informed about the priority areas for investment in Kyrgyzstan, the E-visa system, as well as the measures taken by the country's leadership to protect foreign investors.
Kazakbaev emphasized the great potential for the business communities of the two countries in various fields, including energy, textiles, pharmaceuticals and education.
As a result of the meeting the sides agreed to actively cooperate for further expansion of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The Pakistani side reaffirmed its readiness to establish and expand direct business contacts between the business circles of the two countries, and expressed special gratitude to Minister Kazakbaev for his visit to the Chamber of Commerce of Lahore during his visit to Pakistan.
The minister invited Pakistani businessmen to visit Kyrgyzstan and intensify their activities in the country.
