Bishkek, July 31, 2022 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev held bilateral talks with Member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi as part of his official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
During the briefing, Kulubaev noted that cooperation with China is a priority in Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
The sides intend to further strengthen political dialogue and make efforts to implement the agreements reached between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to further develop relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Minister Wang Yi noted that bilateral relations have come a long way in 30 years. Under the strategic leadership of the heads of state, China and Kyrgyzstan have become good neighbors, good friends, partners and brothers.
The parties need to strengthen solidarity, support each other in matters of sovereignty, security, and the chosen path of development with its national characteristics.
Jeenbel Kulubaev also noted that during the talks with his Chinese counterpart the development of trade and economic relations and investment cooperation were discussed.
The ministers intend to work actively to implement the Program of medium-term and long-term development of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China until 2030.
They also interested in increasing the level of trade turnover and cargo flow, optimization of border checkpoints, export of Kyrgyz agricultural products to China. An agreement was also reached to work on the development of e-commerce and attracting investment in renewable energy in Kyrgyzstan.
The ministers also expressed unanimity about the importance of the practical implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad project.
In addition, the Chinese minister noted the importance of accelerating the implementation of the One Belt, One Road initiative and working together to plan bilateral cooperation for the next 30 years to bring the Kyrgyz-Chinese relationship of comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.
China will continue to support Kyrgyzstan in combating the coronavirus pandemic. Cooperation and exchange of experience in the health sector will be further strengthened.
In order to further intensify cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the parties agreed to open the Lu Ban Workshop in Kyrgyzstan to develop vocational education, as well as to establish cultural centers to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
Through interaction within the UN and regional organizations, the practice of mutual support on important initiatives and key issues of mutual interest will continue.
