Bishkek, Jan. 19, 2018. / Kabar /. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev met in New York with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
During the conversation, Abdyldaev informed the interlocutor about the internal political situation in the country, including the past presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the ongoing reforms. In addition, he briefed on priority areas for Kyrgyzstan's cooperation with the United Nations for the near future, aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
In turn, Guterres positively assessed the results of the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, and expressed hope for the further efforts of Kyrgyzstan in promoting democratic reforms.
In conclusion, the Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic invited the UN Secretary General to attend the opening ceremony of the Third World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan in September this year.
