Kyrgyz FM Kazakbaev has phone talk with his Kazakh counterpart Tleuberdi

Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2021 . / Kabar / . Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi held on Wednesday a phone talk.

The conversation between the two foreign ministers took place at the initiative of the Kyrgyz side, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

During the talk, Ministers Kazakbaev and Tleuberdi discussed important issues of the agenda of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations, and exchanged views on international and regional issues with an eye to the worsening military-political situation in Afghanistan.

The Kyrgyz minister expressed gratitude to the leadership of Kazakhstan and the Foreign Ministry of the neighboring country for assistance in the evacuation of 15 Kyrgyz citizens from Kabul, as well as for the assistance to the Kyrgyz Embassy in Afghanistan.

Tleuberdi indicated the readiness of the Kazakh side to provide further assistance in matters related to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission in Afghanistan.

The sides agreed to coordinate further actions on the situation in Afghanistan through their foreign missions and foreign ministries, including with partner countries within the CSTO and other regional organizations, in order to respond quickly and solve urgent issues in case the situation worsens.

The ministers also discussed issues on the regional agenda, in particular the preparations for the upcoming meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone Treaty member states in Nur-Sultan.
