Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met in Moscow with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
During the talks, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of two countries emphasized with deep satisfaction the successful results of the first foreign visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadar Zhaparov to Russia.
Minister Kazakbaev told that the program of the visit was very rich. In particular, President Zhaparov participated in fruitful negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, meetings with Chairmen of both chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Government of Russia Michail Mishustin, as well as met with representatives of Russian business circles.
The sides positively noted that the documents signed during the visit.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers of two countries exchanged views on the broad agenda of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and migration spheres, discussed current topics of multilateral cooperation within the framework of international, regional and integration organizations, and also considered issues on countering the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude for the invaluable support of the Russian Federation in the form of humanitarian assistance in countering the novel coronavirus infection, financial support for the country's economy, and the provision of gratuitous technical assistance for the implementation of an electronic fiscal system for tax procedures, traceability and labeling the products in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The sides expressed a mutual opinion on the need to maintain close contacts at all levels, strengthen mutually beneficial political dialogue, promote economic and investment cooperation, integration processes in the vast Eurasian space, as well as expanding interregional interaction.
They agreed to coordinate the work of the ministries and agencies of two states on the further implementation of the agreements reached following the results of the first visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadar Zhaparov to Russia, and to continue constant political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in order to discuss topical issues of bilateral, international and regional agendas.
The meeting resulted in signing the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of ensuring international information security, which is aimed to establish the legal and organizational framework for cooperation between the sides in this field.
