Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2021 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received on Tuesday representatives of the Radio Liberty Corporation led by President and CEO Jamie Fly.
The meeting was also attended by director of the Kyrgyz Azattyk service Venera Zhumataeva and regional director of Radio Liberty's Central Asian service Hamid Ismailov, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
During the meeting, Kazakbaev noted that Radio Liberty traditionally occupies a special place in the information field of Kyrgyzstan and for many years has remained a reliable source of news about what is happening in the country.
In turn, head of Radio Liberty Jamie Fly thanked the minister for the opportunity to meet, and noted that the Kyrgyz Republic, having chosen the democratic path of development, plays a special role in the region, providing journalists with conditions to freely and unhinderedly carry out their professional activities.
He also expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz foreign minister for the ongoing accreditation of journalists of Liberty from Russia, Tajikistan and other countries, and stated his intention to expand the existing, as well as create new information projects in order to cover a wide range of issues that would be of interest to both citizens of Kyrgyzstan and countries of the region, in particular the problems of migration.
